Engineering Project of the Year 


The Jamaica Institution of Engineers (JIE) over the years have solicited nominations for "Engineering Project of the Year" with a myriad of projects being nominated for the award. It has rapidly evolved over the years to be seen as the most prestigious and coveted engineering award in Jamaica. Overall, the nominations reflected the highest caliber of projects undertaken in Jamaica in the engineering industry.

The Engineering Project of the Year Award is announced each year at the JIE Annual Awards Dinner and Ball. The finalists for the last two (2) years are as follows:


Council Year 2009 - 2010

  1. The Norman Manley International Airport, Terminal Expansion Programme (NMIA)
  2. The Caribbean Cement Kiln 5 Project (Carib Cement)
  3. The Jamaica Broilers Ethanol Plant Phase III (Ethanol Plant)
  4. The Kingston Metropolitan Area Sewerage & Waste Water Treatment Project (Soapberry)

  1. Jamaica Public Service Company - 3MW Munroe Wind Farm (JPS)
  2. National Water Commission - Kingston Metropolitan Area Water Supply Project (NWC)
  3. National Rums of Jamaica Limited - Modernization of Rum Distillery Operations at Moneymusk (National Rums)
  4. Tank Weld Metals Limited - Port Rio Bueno
